Terms and Conditions of Travel
Please read carefully before clicking on the booking form or contacting us directly that you understand and agree with the Terms and Conditions of Travel.
How to book
Contact 50 Plus Travel™ staff directly or via our booking enquiry page to check the availability of your requested tour. Confirmation is normally emailed or posted within 2 business days.
Deposit and payments
To secure a booking a deposit of NZ$1,250 per person per tour must be received within 5 days from the date of confirmation. The balance is due 120 days before the commencement of your tour, unless you are responding to a special offer. If travel is to commence within 120 days of the booking, full payment is required at the time of booking.
The booking conditions constitute a legally binding contract between 50 Plus Travel Ltd ™ (50 Plus) and the services provided by 50 Plus Travel ™. By booking with 50 Plus Travel™ and paying the non refundable deposit of NZ$1,250 per person, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to be legally bound by these booking conditions. Acceptance of your booking will be confirmed in writing to you and a contract becomes binding on the date shown on your confirmation letter or email.
If booking directly with 50 Plus Travel ™ we will then issue you with an Invoice confirming details of your tour, payments made and any outstanding balance due. This Invoice confirmation constitute contract between us from the date we issue this invoice. Terms and conditions will apply from this date.
Please check all details on your invoice carefully and let us know immediately if anything appears incorrect. This is particularly important as names and other details on travel documents need to match those on passports.
All prices are quoted in New Zealand dollars and are inclusive of GST. The quoted price is for a fully escorted tour ex Auckland, shared twin, economy airfare, all meals and excursions as stated in your itinerary. Any upgrades, airfare to and from Auckland, visa (if any), transfers, airport departure taxes (if any), travel insurance, excess luggage charges, laundry, drinks, medical expenses, optional extra activities or trips, tips and any items of a personal nature are not included in your tour price
Payment may be made by cash, cheque or direct deposit. Our bank details will be forwarded to you on confirmation of your booking.
Cancellations and refunds
All cancellations must be in writing. The following cancellation fees will apply to your booking:

Please note that some airfares are subject to strict amendment and cancellation fees and some are non-refundable at all. Therefore additional cancellation fees may apply.
Allow up to 8 weeks for refund to be processed.
No refund is available for cancellations or no-shows after commencement of the tour or on any services due to personal negligence or choice.
Insurance
50 Plus Travel™ strongly recommends that you carry comprehensive travel insurance which covers cancellation due to unforeseen circumstances or those beyond your control. Contact 50 Plus Travel™ staff for a choice of insurance policies.
We also recommend that you get a trip cancellation and interruption policy as well as extended health coverage to cover the costs of any changes to your travel arrangements - like booking a new flight home. Carefully read the details of your policy and make sure you understand the terms and exclusions. If you need any assistance please contact 50 Plus Travel ™ team.
Amendments
Once deposit is paid and booking confirmed, all changes are subject to a NZ$150 charge per change. Name changes or replacement of a confirmed booking will be considered as cancellation and the new name will be taken as a new booking. In this situation all clauses referring to cancellation charges will apply. No amendments will be permitted within 30 days of departure.
Tour cancellation by 50 Plus Travel™
If 50 Plus Travel™ is forced to cancel your booked tour for any reason(s), an alternative 50 Plus Travel™ tour will be offered at 5% discount. If this is not suitable, 50 Plus Travel™ reserve the right to cancel any trip and make a full refund of monies paid. In this event 50 Plus Travel can not be held liable for any damages or claims in connection with these cancellations.
Cancellation due to tour booking numbers
50 Plus Travel™ reserves the right to cancel any tour prior to departure in the event there are too few people booked on a tour in which case you will be given a full refund of the tour price paid by you. You will not be entitled to any additional amounts or seek any compensation for injury, loss, expenses or damages for any loss of time or inconvenience which may result from such a cancellation (including but not limited to visa, passport and vaccination charges).
Health and fitness
All 50 Plus Travel™ tours are suitable for anyone with an average level of fitness and mobility. If you have any dietary or medical requirements, please bring with you a letter from your doctor confirming that you are on medication or need dietary supplements.
If you are vegetarian or have any food allergies please let us know at the time of booking. You may need to bring with you specific foods which are only found in certain health shops. Bring with you a letter from your doctor confirming that you need these supplements.
Please let us know of any medical conditions that you may have at the time of booking.
Itineraries, prices/increases and omissions
Itineraries are indicative only and all details are finalised prior to departure. Prices shown for each destination are subject to change with or without notice (unless paid in full prior to change). Adjustments for currency and/or fuel fluctuations may apply.
50 Plus Travel™ is not responsible for omissions and/or presentation errors and reserves the right to make corrections as required. For the most up-to-date prices, Terms and Conditions check www.50plustravel.co.nz regularly.
Passports and visas
All travellers must carry a valid passport for international travel and many countries require that they are at least 6 (six) months valid from the date of entry. You must have the required visas prior to departure. For some countries visas will be issued at the time of entry. Please have at least 2 passport size photos with you. 50 Plus Travel™ will not accept any responsibility if you are refused entry to a country for whatever reason.
Waiver of liability of 50 Plus Travel Ltd™
By booking with 50 Plus Travel™ directly or via our booking enquiry page you acknowledge acceptance and acknowledgement of understanding of 50 Plus Travel™ Terms and Conditions, you confirm that you accept liability for loss, death, injury or damage, however caused (including through negligence) which you may directly or indirectly suffer in connection with your tour within the extent permitted by law.
By accepting 50 Plus Travel™ terms and conditions you also waive any and all claims you may now and in the future have against, and release from all liability and agree not to sue 50 Plus Travel™ guides, porters, agents or representatives for any personal injury, death, property damage, or loss you may sustain as a result of joining the tour.
50 Plus Travel™ services and obligations
50 Plus Travel™ offers fully escorted tours to a small group of people (maximum 10 people per tour) aged 50 and over. When a fewer than 10 people booked the tour, 50 Plus Travel™ reserves the right to join other groups with identical itinerary. In this case the group numbers can be 15 or more with some travellers being under age of 50. Various destinations, like river cruises, would require us to be a part of a larger group. Highly knowledgeable and experienced local guides are used on all tours.
We have close association with Viking River Cruises and Kumuka Worldwide. Both companies are renowned for the provision of quality tours and we are proud to be in partnership with both Viking and Kumuka.
We endeavour to make your travel comfortable and enjoyable. However travelling within a group may involve compromise to accommodate the diverse desires and physical abilities of the group. Please exercise patience to your fellow travellers and help us to make your travelling experience even more memorable.
However, at all times we are taking away all worries associated with organising the tour and follow you through the journey to ensure your comfort, give you confidence and provide you with like company.
Jurisdiction
The laws of New Zealand apply to these terms and conditions. Any dispute arising in relation to these terms and conditions will be resolved in accordance with New Zealand law.
