A note from Anna ...
My dream turned sour on my first around the world trip. Desperate for someone to talk to, homesick, and overwhelmed with the guilt of leaving behind my family (I pre-cooked all meals for my husband and my darling Mimi, a small “foxy” terrier) and my busy job. I sent an email to my boss, David Russell, saying "I can’t do it on my own, I am coming back". With his support and assurance that everything was fine at Consumer, that I earned my holidays, and that my family was doing well without me, I slowly pulled myself together and started to enjoy my adventure.
The thought came to mind that there must be many other people like me, roaming the world on their own, with no one around to share new experiences. I vowed that one day I’d set up my own company so people like me will never be alone on their way to fulfil their dreams. And I’ve done just that!
I resigned from Consumers’ Institute after 20 years working as a Financial Controller and set up my own company, 50 Plus Travel Ltd ™. I have travelled extensively around the world in the last ten years, all on my own.
I am a passionate traveller and would love to share my experience with you and to make sure that you get to travel with confidence, comfort and in like company. I’ll take you to places you've only ever dreamed about and I hope that you’ll not only enjoy your adventures but that the memories of it will enhance your everyday life.
And maybe I’ll pass on to you the travel “bug” I certainly became infected with and tempt you to think about your next destination. There is so much to see, discover and enjoy. It’s never too late to explore - it’s just the beginning …
